Each night, I like to relax in front of the TV with my hubby. (He sits at the other end of the couch so as not to be hit with my needle and thread when pulling it up. ) But we enjoy sharing the shows together and I get a lot of hand work done.
Current evening project has been the Valentine Quaker by Primrose Cottage.
My progress over many days:
And for other quilting progress:
I finished my Stash Bee block for February. It turned into several blocks as it was so easy and all my solids were in the bag together. .
I also tinkered with some quilted hearts, but I will show those later.
I finished going through all my old teaching materials: 21 boxes worth. I donated 12 boxes of children's books and kept only 2 boxes for kids and grandkids.
Your nights sound delightful. Ahh....the stabbing with a needle when one sits close to us...ouch! Those cross stitch hearts are pretty and those little squares of dancing colour would sprinkle cheer in the darkest of winter days. Good on you for those boxes of donations. I imagine a teacher would accumulate lots of teaching materials.
ReplyDeleteooh love those blocks...solids make them zing
ReplyDeleteI can't sit and watch tv with my husband - he has to be in charge of the remote and I have to be silent - no one can talk or ask a question if the tv is on and it has to so loud so he can "hear" it without distraction. I go in the sewing room in the evening and quilt and watch tv for what I want to watch in the peace and quite of the sewing room
ReplyDeleteI think it's good to hang onto the career stuff for a while. Eventually you look at it and realize you no longer need it. (But pitching it right away would be too jarring.) We watch TV together, too. I haven't listened to an audiobook in ages, but the companionship is important.
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine's stitchery is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty stitchery!
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are really cool - I like all the varying sizes!
That Valentine cross stitch is going to be so pretty! Love your little improv blocks. Welcome back to Wednesday Wait Loss! We've missed you.
