So it's Sunday. And I felt like working on something different. The bag with the pieced squares was sitting on the side of my sewing table and it called my name. The project was inspired by American Patchwork and Quilting several winters ago. There were many layouts from Lissa Alexander, April Cornell, Edyta Sitar and more. O.K. it is from 2015. NOT to long ago.
I have not been able to work on any UFOs since January. And I have been ahead on a few other piecework projects.
These are colors are from the leftovers of my summer quilt. Of course, I purchased a few more Fig Tree prints to increase the variety of scraps. Love the buttery yellows, peaches, and greens. One of all time favorite fabric lines was Dandelion Girl also by Fig Tree.
I am playing with the layout and what to do with it. Lots to still piece.
14 blocks of 16 patches of 2 inch squares. 12 blocks of the criss cross

But it is pretty and refreshing. And I hope to finish it this time.
ooo! The colors are so pretty!! I wish you luck on finishing it. I have so many UFOs tucked away and should bring them out to play, one at a time so it wouldn't be sew overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love these colors and this pattern. I think you are on a roll now, and you will be finishing it up. I just love those 16-patch blocks . . . the colors just speak of summer to me. ~smile~

How great to pull out a UFO and get it going again. Let's hope you can get it to top stage soon.
ReplyDeleteI really like Fig Tree fabrics. The colors are so fresh. The greens and soft colors in your blocks look great together and will make a gorgeous quilt. Thanks for linking up to MCM!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are so pretty! Looks like a fun project. Good for you for making progress!
