In all my many years of teaching I have never had a winter like this. 5...count them ...5 days ...of no school. The kids are getting lazy and think they don't have to do work. We get them back on track and ...another day off.
It is just beautiful.
So continuing on my bear paw quilt, some knitting, and of course, Valentine cookies.
Wow! That is a lot for your area. Enjoy your time off quilting, stitching and cooking!
ReplyDeleteit really is strange how you have days off for winter weather now in the north! I grew up in Wisconsin a mere 3 miles from Lake Michigan - think lake effect snow and I never had a day off of school that I can remember! never - we lived in Idaho for awhile in a high mountain desert area for the first two years that my oldest daughter went to school and no days off! My younger daughter now lives in WI and the kids occasionally get a day off but not a lot - here in Arkansas a quarter of an inch sends the buses home with kids cancelling classes :)
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I loved snow days. But from a teacher stand point, I guess it isn't the best.
ReplyDeleteYIPPEE for snow days. Always loved them when my Daughter was young and at home. It meant a special day to spend together. Now I would moan cause I don't think snow is pretty or fun. As I've gotten older I hate winter with a passion and start counting down til spring the moment fall starts.
